Blackpoll Warbler

Great things come in small packages, and so is the case with the small blackpoll warbler bird.

According to The American Register, this cute little bird has the potential to fly across thousands of miles without taking any breaks; the pocket sized marvels can travel through oceans and can make the longest over sea migrations.

These birds fly over the Atlantic Ocean to reach their wintering home in South America, The Guardian stated. With a tremendous journey ahead of them, these birds like flying over western Canada and also east coast, before they turn south and go to their home land in South America. Also, they eat before they start their miles long journey and are known to double their body mass in to fat and then they can fly with no need of water or food while they are flying; thus, they can fly for long duration in a single flight.

Although there are other migratory birds like the albatross and the arctic tern which are also known for travelling miles across ocean waters, but this little marvel has the extra work of completing the journey without stopping The main reason behind this is that a water landing will prove to be hundred percent fatal given their extremely small size.

Scientists have also revealed that by studying the pattern of their flying, and also knowing where they are going for migrate, the scientists can study the implications and causations of the increasing climate changes. It can be studies from the facts like, what if the whole group cannot finish their fleet of journey together, there might be some climate change issue or some obstacle on the way which might cause them to do.
