Honda unveils a Civic concept car at the New York International Auto Show in New York April 1, 2015.

Japanese car manufacturer Honda unveiled their highly awaited Honda Civic on Wednesday during an auto expo in New York. The vehicle is designed to target the young driver, the conservative look has been shed to get a new bold look.

The car's exterior designer Guy Melville-Brown stated that the look is more a street fighter look referring to the neon green exterior and bold lines, according to Mashable.

Honda also announced a new turbocharged engine and different design variants that include a performance version and a hatchback version. The cab-forward design that the Civic has had for years has been abandoned, it adds a look of power and makes the hood look longer. In front new LED lights have been added and a new wrap-around taillight has replaced the previous design. The car still retains its unmistakable look of Civic, according to USA Today.

The vehicle is more of a showpiece at the current stage, and it hardly makes a statement amongst the other car designs displayed at the show. The vehicle is catchy, but the new generation of the Honda Civic is highly awaited. The car will be hitting the market this fall.

Honda presented the concept of a technologically advanced vehicle; the interior design has still not been disclosed since the interiors were not revealed during the auto show but Honda's Executive Vice-President for American region, John Mendel stated that when the interiors will be revealed, they will be highly advanced with a high level of connectivity.

With the new Honda Civic, the goal was to create a new charismatic and fun to drive car with the looks and attributes of a sports car for the younger generation of drivers.
