Twitter Launches New Feature 'Text with Retweet' for iPhone and Windows; Android Update Still Pending

Twitter Inc. has decided to launch its Text with Retweet feature, which enables users to post their own comments while re-tweeting a tweet.

Moreover, this update would help address the long pending complaints by its users wherein it was not possible to insert comments while Retweeting some link, owing to the 140 character limit set by the social network.  

The social network which has been in the news recently for its drastic updates which include the update rolled out in August last year for users to view tweets from accounts that they weren't following. Furthermore, the next update titled "Recap" enabled users to view tweets posted when they were away.

Defending the earlier version, Forbes described the new one as a time consuming maneuver restricted to only a few users.

Furthermore, Mike Davidson, the Vice President of Design at Twitter has remarked to the CNet that this new update has been rolled out for Windows and iPhone but he promised that the Android version is under works.

Twitter which has been a serving as a medium of communication for almost a decade and this functionality would open up levels of communication that were previously unavailable. Moreover, it is all set to serve as a major move for businesses who are trying to build their brand image using social media marketing. Besides, this comes as a boon in disguise for startups which would now save upon the cost of advertising much required for marketing.

Furthermore, the repeated retweets would help create a global chat easily which would help tap the potential for a larger and more engaged community.
