Derrick Rose has finally returned Wednesday night to Chicago Bulls but was not able to help his team get the big W as they bowed down to the Orlando Magic 105-103.
According to Chicago Tribune, Rose was seated after 19 minutes and 24 seconds playing, in which he produced 9 points. Chicago dropped 4th in the standing with just four games remaining in the regular season. The 20 minute playing time for the returning superstar was earlier confirmed by the Bulls coach as he is still in a day to day basis.
On the game itself, Tim Thibodeau said that Rose's first quarter was very good. He also said that Rose got a little bit winded but is expected since he just came from a 20 game lay-off. Thibodeau was also pleased with Rose's show of mixed moves such as some penetration to the basket, mid-range and long range shots which was a good sign considering to where Rose came from.
During the post-game interview, the former league MVP said that they were matching Orlando offensively but defensively they were not. He also added that there was a problem with regards to communication. Rose also said that for an opponent to win via a lay-up is a communication issue.
According to Yahoo, Rose said that he felt good and did not feel any discomfort at all. He ended the interview by saying that it is indeed a good sign and he was just happy to play.
Rose will be in action again on Thursday against the Miami Heat.
