Apple CEO Tim Cook has revealed what he thinks is the Apple smartwatch model that best suits him.
While outside the Palo Alto Apple store, Cook showed off a stainless steel model of Apple smartwatch with a white band as his personal choice.
In an interview with CNBC while surrounded by a crowd, Cook said initial orders were "great" for his first new major product, which can be either tried out in stores by appointment or pre-ordered online but cannot be taken home yet.
With Apple expecting that demand would exceed supply at the launch of the Apple smartwatch, which is the company's venture into the personal luxury goods market, people flocked to Apple's stores across the globe to get a close-up look at the hyped watch, according to Reuters.
In a note to Apple Watch customers, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster wrote, "We view this as an indication of solid demand paired with very limited supply. We continue to expect modest sales in the June quarter as demand ramps over time."
On April 10, Apple smartwatch customers pre-ordered the product but they will have to wait for at least one month for it to be delivered to them. On the same day, Apple Watch listings also appeared on eBay, in which numerous sellers are trying to make a few bucks by passing on their Apple smart watches upon receipt.
Apparently, Apple is strategically positioning the Apple smartwatch as a must-have accessory. On April 24, the wearable computer will go officially on sale online and through appointments in stores around the world, including fashion boutiques in Tokyo, Paris and London.
