Another trailer of Marvel's upcoming film "Ant-Man" has been released, raising the fans' excitement to new heights. The trailer highlighted what the fans can expect from the film and showcased its touch of humor as Marvel's Kevin Feige disclosed the superhero's position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The trailer runs two minutes and a half and it starts off with a person walking to a facility, which looks like a laboratory. A line by Corey Stoll can be heard long with the opening scene, saying "Imagine a soldier the size of an insect" while showing Ant-Man's costume.
Also, the trailer reveals Hank Pym's voice mentioning the connection of possessing a power to having chaos. Further scenes show the abilities of the small protagonist as well as his confrontation and battles with the villain Yellowjacket.
"Ant-Man"'s lead actor Paul Rudd is different in the new trailer, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The trailer has some scenes that displayed humor such as when Scott Lang was asked by Pym to "steal some stuff."
There was also a scene when small Ant-Man met an ant, saying "You're kinda' cute." Lang being punched on the face also gave an effective punchline. The selection of the toy train as a battle spot also demonstrated a bit of humor in the film.
Meanwhile, Feige of Marvel Studios divulged "Ant-Man"'s position in the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In his interview with Slashfilm, he disclosed that "Ant-Man" serves as a zenith of Marvel's Phase Two and "Civil War "marks the beginning of Phase Three.
The small protagonist will be the midpoint of the two phases as Pym's attitude towards Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., and the Cinematic Universe will be further enlightened following the events in the "Age of Ultron" and before the "Civil War."
While "Ant-Man" showcases new characters such as Pym and his lineage in the Cinematic Universe, it also introduces the concept of heroes coming from various settings. For instance, there is Scott Lang coming from the prison and Sokovian twins Wanda and Pietro in Age of Ultron.
The highly anticipated film stars Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van dyne, Michael Douglas as Pym, Stoll as Darren Cross/Yellowjacket, and Rudd as Lang/Ant-Man.
Peyton Reed is set to helm the film, along with Victoria Alonso, Louis D'esposito, Alan Fine, Michael Grillo, Stan Lee, Leo Thompson, Brad Winderbaum, Lars Winther, and Edgar Wright as his co-producers. Adam McKay and Rudd are in charge to pen to screenplay.
Marvel's "Ant-Man" is slated to premiere on July 17.
