The upcoming sequel of the movie "Blade Runner" will have Ryan Gosling in a critical role. The producers of the movie have confirmed this news and they announced it on Thursday.
The 34-year-old actor will be joining the cast of the movie, which is currently led by Harrison Ford. Ford will be reprising his role from the sci-fi movie from the year 1982, according to NY Daily News.
This movie is scheduled to be released in the year 2017, which will incidentally be exactly two years prior to the period in which the movie is actually set. More details about the movie are still awaited but one thing has been confirmed that the character of Rick Deckard, which was played by Ford will return to the big screen to a world where there are artificial and illegal humans which are called "replicants", and are being hunted down.
The movie will be directed by the director of "Prisoners" fame, Denis Villeneuve, according to Indie Wire. The original director of the first movie, Ridley Scott, will also be on board with the project and will be taking part of a producer for the sequel. Hampton Fincher, the original screenplay writer will also be collaborating in this movie. It will be released by Warner Bros.
Although Gosling is on a very busy schedule these days, currently working on big projects like "The Nice Guys and The Big Short", yet he has signed the deal for this movie.
"Blade Runner" has been termed as one of the greatest movies of all time by a number of polls and social media platforms, and also the single most amazing sci-fi movie in various genre polls.
