Internet went into frenzy when it was reportedrecently that pop star's Ariana Grande dad is being protective about his daughter and has jokingly slammed her boyfriend Big Sean on Instagram. It now appears that it was the job of an imposter.
The "Break Free" singer's fans were taken aback when the star's father, Edward Butera, unexpectedly reacted to one of the Instagram uploads of her boyfriend. Big Sean has uploaded a selfie along with the sexually suggestive caption , "I give her that D... #Detroit."
Under the Sean's comment, someone with the same name as Grande's father left another comment "that D. better be Detroit Sean." The profile, from which the comment has been named, has a photo of Grande and her dad as its profile pic which is the same one that is used by Buter on his Twitter account, E!News reported.
Meanwhile, a publicist of the pop star has confirmed to Refinery 29 that the Instagram account from which the controversial comment has been made on Sean's caption is actually fake. However, the account in question seems to be legit due to the huge number of followers and a host of family pics that have been posted on it.
"That is an imposter on Instagram," tweeted Butera to further clear the air. Despite the vehement denials and statements, it does appear that the private marked Instagram account belongs to the singer' father who is just trying to keep a tab on his daughter' rapper boyfriend for his sexual innuendo.
Grande and Sean are dating for the past a few months now and often share their PDA filled pics on the photo sharing site. The 21-year-old singer is even writing a song dedicated to her first true love to be included in her next abum.
