"Fast and Furious 7" remains unstoppable as it ranks first for the third time last weekend. Also, the top five films for last weekend's box office will also be revealed.
James Wan's car race film "Fast and Furious 7" ranked first in the box office among the movies that showed last weekend, as per Box Office Mojo. The film managed to stay at the top despite of its weekend gross of $29 million, which is 51.2% decline from a $59 million gross last week.
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, The Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Ludacris, Lucas Black, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, and Djimon Hounsou, the film has grossed a total of $294 million.
Coming at number two is Andy Fickman's comedy film "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2," which stars Kevin James and Neal McDonough. Distributed by Sony, the newly released film grossed $24 million last weekend and is $5 million apart from "Furious 7."
Levan Gabriadze's horror film "Unfriended" claimed the third spot. The film stars Shelly Hennig, Moses Jacob Storm, Renee Olstead, Will Peltz, Jacob Wysocki, Courtney Halverson, and Heather Sossaman. After its release on Apr. 17, 2015, it made a gross of $16 million last week.
The fourth spot is taken by Tim Johnson's animated film "Home," which stars the voices of Jim Parsons, Rihanna, Steve Martin, and Jennifer Lopez. "Home" grossed $10 million for the past weekend, which is a 44.4% drop from last week. The animated film has got a total gross of $142 million.
At the fifth place in the box office chart is George Tillman, Jr.'s romantic film "The Longest Ride." It stars Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood, Jack Huston, Melissa Benoist, and Alan Alda. For the past weekend, it made a gross of $6 million, which is a 47.4% decrease from its initial gross of $13 million. Overall, it has grossed a total of $23 million.
From the top five films in last weekend's box office, 'Furious 7' now stands as the seventh highest-grossing film globally, as per Screen Rant. Its increase continues along with its theatrical run.
