After the release of the new trailer and poster of the upcoming film "Fantastic Four," it has been said that the heroes co-exist with the "X-Men" in the same cosmos. Also, new stills have been released featuring the "Fantastic Four" and Doom.

Along with a more sci-fi approach, the new "Fantastic Four" film has a stern and grounded tone, as per Forbes. This nature of the forthcoming superhero film is what links it to the "X-Men" Cinematic Universe.

Before the "X-Men" series, the original "Fantastic Four" films in 2005 and 2007 kept their faith with the tone of the comic book.

The predecessors of "Fantastic Four" have achieved financial success, although the predecessors were not that extremely popular with comic fans. To date, both films have got a combined worldwide gross of about $620 million, which proves the success they have given to Marvel and Fox.

The "X-Men" franchise has got a total worldwide gross of $3 billion with "X-Men" (2000), "X2" (2003), "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006), "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009), "X-Men: First Class" (2011), "The Wolverine" (2013), and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014).

For the producers behind "X-Men," a serious approach was the best path and this will be the same path that the new "Fantastic Four" movie will follow.

"Fantastic Four" is not the only film that has done its incarnation in the realm of entertainment. "Spider-Man," "Batman," and "Superman" had also had their remakes on the origin story. Responses from the audience may be mixed at times, but those do not affect the financial success of the films.

High resolution photos have been revealed, showing the Fantastic Four and their powers as well as the supervillain Doom. The images can be seen in Live For Films.

The photos show Michael B. Jordan's Johnny Storm/Human Torch in his fiery look, Kate Mara's Sue Storm/Invisible Woman turning unseen, Miles Teller's Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic being monitored in the laboratory, Jamie Bell's Ben Grimm/The Thing ready to smash anything, and Toby Kebbell's Victor Domanshev/Doom wearing his black hood.

Directed by Josh Trank, "Fantastic Four" is slated to be released on Aug. 7.
