"Fantastic Four" stars Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara

Michael B. Jordan, 28, explained the biracial casting of "Fantastic Four" during her appearance on the late night show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on April 20, Monday.

Jimmy Kimmel, 47, appeared to be curious about Jordan's "Fantastic Four" character Johnny Storm, the brother of Sue Storm, played by Kate Mara, 32, since Jordan is African-American while Mara is white.

When Kimmel mentioned about Mara being white, Jordan said, "I do know that. I'm pretty sure there's white people here with other ethnicities, brothers and sisters. It doesn't mean biological. It's the world that we live in."

Noting that the biracial casting of "Fantastic Four" was "kind of self-explanatory," Jordan said that it is one of those things where he does not like "drawing attention to the ignorance sometimes."

Still, Kimmel implied that it is normal for fans to ask the same question about him being black and Mara being white and yet they play "Fantastic Four" characters who are siblings. Jordan then made his point clearer saying there is a thing called adoption and it happens.

Jordan also revealed that his Johnny Storm costume is a "big, huge, black cloak." Ironically, he mentioned that Fox and Marvel are "pretty top secretive" when it comes to their projects

Joining Jordan as Johnny Storm or The Human Torch and Mara as Sue Storm or The Invisible Woman in the "Fantastic Four" cast are Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm or The Thing and Miles Teller as Reed Richards or Mr. Fantastic.
