According to reports, Splash Damage and Microsoft are creating a remastered version of the original Gears of War, GameSpot reported. The reports said that the re-release of the famous game for Xbox One will include updated visuals and many more new features.
According to the Polygon website, the game Gears of War will include updated visuals and modified cutscenes, which were developed by Sydney-based Plastic Wax, an animation and production studio.
It was first thought that Black Studios will be developing the video game for Xbox One; however, Polygon website said that the British video game developer Splash Damage will be developing the Xbox One remaster of the game. The UK-based studio is known for famous games such as Dirty Bomb and Brink.
Polygon also reported that Splash Damage has job listings that mention they are working on a well-known and popular AAA title with next gen technology.
According to the Polygon website, the remastered version of the original Gears of War runs at 60 fps (frames per second) during multiplayer. That means if the fps is higher, the movement of the game is more fluid and detailed, and if the fps is lower, the game will be sporadic and jerky. Furthermore, the remake also features an increase in texture quality and an improved lighting.
Polygon also that they had seen screenshots of the Gears of War multiplayer running on Xbox One, iDigitalTimes reported.
In 2014, Microsoft purchased Gears of War franchise from Epic Games. The remake has not yet been officially announced.
