While reports are pointing to the imminent US roll out of Android 5.1 Lollipop OS for Moto X 2013 and 2014, there is a huge possibility that the OS updates will stop there as the third generation of the device will sport the latest Android 5.1.1 version.

According to Ecumenical News, Moto X 2015 will be announced later this year and the handset will run with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS unless Google will announce new operating system and Motorola will immediately adapt it.

Meanwhile, it is only a matter of time before US-based Moto X users will receive the perks and fixes of the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Motorola spokesman David Shuster previously announced earlier this month that the Moto X line will skip the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS update and will be updated to the Android 5.1 software. However, the update will first land in Brazil. According to Gospel Herald, there is no confirmation from the three major carriers in the United States whether the latest Android update will be heading to the Motorola anytime soon.

The Moto X 2014, being the flagship smartphone of Motorola, was one of the first devices that received the latest Android Lollipop operating system. Motorola also announced that the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update for the second generation of Moto X is already in the works.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS will make significant changes in the operating system and in the features of the software. Moreover, it will also fix the bugs and issues that were left unfixed by the previous versions. Also, there is no official word from Motorola at the moment.
