"Shake It Off" hit maker Taylor Swift has hinted that "Clean," one of the most intriguing songs of her recent album "1989," is actually inspired by her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles.

Speaking with her close friend, Tavi Gevinson, for the June issue of Elle magazine, Swift said she wrote "Clean" as she was walking out of Liberty in London.

"Someone I used to date -- it hit me that I'd been in the same city as him for two weeks and I hadn't thought about it," said the 25-year-old singer to clear the air around her hit album, which is said to be largely inspired from her break-up from the One Direction lead singer based in London. The former lovebirds apparently had special memories associated with the city since the two had been spotted there multiple times in the past.

Swift is undoubtedly the real star of the present times. With the recent interview it came to light that the 25-year-old singer is quite happy and content with her past as well as present. Swift, who has been in the limelight since she was 16, never had any sort of public meltdown which is otherwise common among teen stars, Billboard reported.

Further, in the interview, the level headed singer disclosed how she never felt the need  to regret whatever she had done in her growing up years.

"I did that. It was part of me growing up," Swift said while recalling how she had her own share of teen fixations like wearing cowboy boots and sundresses to awards shows at the age of 17.
