China is hopeful that the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre will boost art exchange.

Aimed at enhancing China’s cultural exchanges with foreign countries, an international dance fest will kick off in July in the autonomous region of Xinjiang.

According to the region's government, the Ministry of Culture and the State Council Information Office, the fourth edition of the festival will showcase talents from Xinjiang, other Chinese provinces and other participating countries.

Troupes and cultural groups from over a dozen countries such as Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Ireland are expected to join in more than 70 shows, which will be held at Xinjiang's four major cities.

Xinjiang government's deputy chairwoman Tian Wen hoped that the dance festival could laud China's style as well as the region's features and characteristics. She is optimistic that the event will draw mass participants who will enjoy world-class performances.

Apart from the dance fest itself, the revelry will also include other activities such as the International Dance Master Class, China Internet Dance Festival, 2015 Silk Road Performance Trade Fair, an art exhibition, an auction and a cultural exchange project.

A senior from China's Ministry of Culture, Pu Tong stated that Xinjiang is about to experience the country's "Belt and Road initiatives" as the region is eyed as one of the focal points of the campaign.

Pu also remarked that the autonomous region's vibrant heritage is one vital drive in fostering the initiative as well as the Sino-foreign cultural trade.

Coinciding with the international dance festival is the 60th-year anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region. Deputy chairwoman Tian said that the global fest will add merriment to this occasion.

The Xinjiang International Dance Festival will be held from July 20 until Aug. 5.
