"Grimm" creators wrote and directed the penultimate episode of the season. Titled "Headache," this new episode appears to have solved one problem but opened several more doors to darker moments. In her worst move yet, Juliette takes part in the killing of Nick's mother, Kelly Burkhardt.
Toward the end of the episode, Nick finds a cardboard box in his home. He opens it and finds his mom's severed head. It seems Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was not available to film "Grimm" Season 4, episode 21, but the creators found a way to kill off her character in a horrible way that will change Nick forever.
It appears Prince Kenneth's (Nico Evers-Swindell) plans have worked: Juliette reaches out to Kelly with a fake problem concerning Nick. Kelly comes home to Portland with Diana. The royal mercenaries catch Kelly in the trap. Juliette stays behind the fight scene; she comes out when it's over and finds Diana safe on the floor. She takes her into her arms. Does she have regrets over what happened?
Adalind (Claire Coffee) somehow helps Nick to fix Captain Renard's (Sasha Roiz) problem. Jack the Ripper is no longer in control of Renard's body and mind. After realising he has a role in Henryetta's (Garcelle Beauvais) death, Renard cooperates with Nick.
Series creators Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf wrote "Grimm" Season 4, episode 21. Kouf directed the episode.
"Grimm" Season 4, episode 21 sparked several questions among the show's viewers. One, did Kelly really die, or did the grimm momma merely send a decoy? (Nick seemed sure it was his mother's severed head, though.) Did Prince Kenneth and Juliette really get Adalind's baby?
The next episode of "Grimm" Season 4 is its finale. NBC ordered Season 5 in February, so fans are watching out for clues as to what could happen in the next season.
