Flavor Flav Under Arrest For Driving Under Influence And Speeding

Rapper Flavor Flav was taken into custody in the wee hours of May 21, Thursday, morning on the charges of driving under the influence, speeding, possessing less than an ounce of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle as he entered Interstate 15 southwest of McCarran International Airport.

The spokesman of Nevada Highway Patrol told Associated Press that the police pulled over Flav around 12:30 am for speeding at 73 mph in a 45 mph zone. On further investigation, it was found that the rapper was driving with a suspended licence and had a small quantity of marijuana and an open can of alcohol container. The "Flavor Of Love" star's 2005 black BMW also had a false registration number.

Flav, who real name is  William Jonathan Drayton Jr, rose to popularity as a member of the hip-hop group Public Enemy. The rapper had also been featured in several VH1's reality TV shows including "The Surreal Life" and "Strange Love."

Popular for dangling large clock around his neck at public events, Flav's latest stint is just a add-on to the pile of legal charges against him. Back in 2014, the rapper was  stopped for speeding on the way to his mother's funeral with a suspended license in New York. He had pleaded not guilty to the charge and the matter is still under jurisdiction, USA Today reported.

In another case of domestic violence, Flav had pleaded guilty for threatening the son of his longtime girlfriend with a kitchen knife. However, the case was closed a few months later.

Neither Flav nor his attorney Kristina Wildeveld had made any comment on the matter yet in reference to the latest arrest.
