"Fantastic Four" writer Josh Trank took to Twitter on May 24, Sunday, to slam tabloids' rumors about the upcoming film starring Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
"Next time you read an article, whether it's Hollywood Reporter or SuperheroNews, if they aren't naming sources: it's probably bulls--t," Trank wrote followed by another tweet saying, "Where there's bulls--t there's flies."
Prior to this, Superhero News reported that poor test screenings forced "Fantastic Four" to undergo a select amount of re-shoots sometime in April. The tabloid also reported that since photography started in 2014, the film has hit quite a few speed bumps and it will be co-directed by "Kingsman: The Secret Service" director Matthew Vaughn.
Trank also responded to this report via a tweet saying, "@SuperheroNewsCB Definitely not true. I haven't even met MV in person, and there were no such test screenings," referring to Vaughn, who is also a "Fantastic Four" producer.
On the other hand, The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot made the film look more realistic and grounded than its comic book source material. It also mentioned that the "Fantastic Four" ad produced by 20th Century Fox for MovieTickets.com fails to give the clearest view of Jordan and Teller's characters.
"Fantastic Four" also stars Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson, Jodi Lyn Brockton, Aaron V. Williamson, Reg E. Cathey, Chet Hanks, Christopher Heskey, Gus Rhodes and Don Yesso, among others. Watch the 20th Century Fox-produced "Fantastic Four" ad 20th Century Fox here:
