‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5, Episode 7 Spoilers: The Sand Snakes Mock Bronn (Review)

Co-executive producer George R.R. Martin arrives for the season premiere of HBO's "Game of Thrones" in San Francisco, California March 23, 2015.

"Game of Thrones" Season 5, Episode 7, titled "The Gift," aired Sunday on HBO. This weekend's new episode features a remarkable interaction between Bronn and three of Prince Oberyn Martell's Sand Snakes.

Some "Game of Thrones" viewers probably did not know that Bronn has stage-worthy vocals. The actor playing the role, Jerome Flynn, is half of Robson & Jerome, a popular Brit duo who topped music charts in the 1990s. Bronn's singing lead to a flirting session with one of the Sand Snakes, and probably the reason why she spared his life.

In contrast to the Snow bastards in the North, the bastards in the South are named Sand. The Sand Snakes are daughters of the late Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne. There are eight of them, all of whom are known for their fierce nature.

Obara Sand, Tyene Sand and Nymeria Sand are the ones who attacked Cersei's daughter Myrcella Baratheon. They are now in a cell opposite Bronn's in Dorne. Tyene is the eldest daughter of Oberyn's lover Ellaria. She was pleased to hear Bronn singing and even gave him an appreciative applause.

In "Game of Thrones" Season 5, Episode 7, Tyene may have liked Bronn's singing voice, but she did not appreciate him hinting that she may not be the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. It turns out the Sand Snakes have a whimsical and dangerous sense of humor.

Just when Bronn thought they were in the middle of sensual flirting, the toxins from Tyene's blade started to kick in. Tyene had earlier wounded Bronn in the fight for Myrcella's custody. (Neither of them won, and Myrcella said she had no intention to go back to King's Landing.)

Fortunately for Bronn, Tyene was wearing an antidote. She tosses it to him just in the nick of time. Her two sisters snicker upon witnessing the horror in Bronn's face when he thought he was dying. Will there be more to see between the Sand Snakes and Bronn?

According to rumors, the next episode - "Game of Thrones" Season 5, Episode 8 - will be the biggest and most epic this season, instead of the traditional ninth episode. GOT 5x8 is called, "Hardhome."
