Speculations surrounding the upcoming iOS 9 are getting more interesting as some of the rumors claim that the new operating system will support iPhone 4.

Apple has stayed quiet about the details of iOS 9, but this did not deter several tech blogging sites from speculating. According to 9to5Mac, the upcoming iOS 9 will be optimized in order to support older iPhone devices like iPhone 4. The report added that Apple will be ditching the usual trend of introducing new features; instead the company will be focusing on quality and upgrade on its current apps.

The upcoming iOS 9, codenamed Monarch, will feature under-the-hood improvements as well as software optimization. Mac OS X 10.11, codenamed Gala, will also use the same approach.

Since the release of iPhone 5, iPhone 4 was not included in iOS updates. According to Vine Report, Apple is optimizing iOS 9 in order to support older devices to boost the devices' performance as well as fix some bugs and glitches.

Several reports also claim that the upcoming iOS 9 will integrate the San Francisco typeface, currently used by the Apple Watch, into iPhone devices. The font is also rumored to be the default typeface of all iOS devices including Mac.

On the security aspect, Apple is reported to be developing a new security system codenamed Rootless. The new security system can detect and clear out malware as well as secure user's sensitive information. It is reported that Rootless will target the jailbreaking community by preventing users, even with administrator clearance, direct access to protected files.
