No new iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 model was unveiled during Apple's 2015 Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC). However, the announcement of the new iOS 9 opens the door for a lot of speculation regarding what features the new iPhone will have once released.

The first day of the WWDC 2015 focused mainly on the company's mobile software. Below are the iPhone 6S/7 features that we may see on the smartphone's release date:

Longer battery life - Apple's iPhone devices ranks significantly lower in terms of battery life if compared to its direct competitors from Samsung, LG and HTC. In order to remedy this, the iOS 9 operating system was tweaked in order to squeeze more power out of its battery. The new low power feature in iOS 9 can extend an iPhone's battery life by at least an hour on normal use.

Apple Music - When Apple acquired Beats for $3 billion in 2014, experts predict that Apple is planning to upgrade its own online music service. The new Apple Music service will be officially available for users to use on June 30. Additionally, Apple Music will be fully integrated in the upcoming iOS 9 upgrade as well. Users of the service will be given a 30-day free trial and after that a monthly subscription fee of $9.99 will be charged in case the user wants to continue using the service.

Improved Siri - iOS' personal digital assistant Siri will also receive a major update in terms of performance and added feature. Siri will now have the Proactive Assistant feature. With this new feature, Siri can now proactively assist its user by doing routine functions as well as give useful suggestions and advices.

Apple Pay - Mobile payment service Apple Pay was launched in the United States in October 2014. Apple made the recent announcement at WWDC that its contactless payment service will be released in the United Kingdom in July. Apple added that the company has already teamed up with eight major bank in the region including, HSBC and Halifax.

Apple announced that before the end of 2015, Apple Pay will be supported by more than 250,000 stores and shopping locations within UK. Major supporters of Apple Pay include McDonalds, KFC, Subway and Starbucks.

The upcoming iPhone model is also rumored to support Force Touch since Apple already integrated its smartwatches and newer MacBook models with this technology. Additionally, the new iPhone will also sport a 2GB of RAM and an A9 processor.

Meanwhile, iOS 9's pubic beta version will be released in July with official release date in fall. The timeline for the official release of iOS 9 coincides with the usual release pattern of previous iPhone devices, according to Tech Radar. Many tech experts claim that iOS 9 will be released along with either iPhone 6s or iPhone 7.

Looking back, the iPhone 5 was released in September 2012 and the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s were both released in September 2013. Additionally, Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September 2014, according to Mac World. Following Apple's regular release window, it is highly possible that a new iPhone model will be released in September.
