"Destiny's" upcoming DLC "The Taken King" is reportedly slated for release on Sep 15.
The expansion will cost nearly $40, which is almost twice the cost of the previous 2 expansions - House of Wolves and The Dark Below, and will also open up new subclasses for each of the Destiny's classes, according to Kotaku, that quotes "a large marketing sheet for The Taken King," sent by a tipster. The report claims to have corroborated the leak with other unnamed sources.
This backs up the previous reports that suggested that the expansion release will coincide with Destiny's first-year anniversary on Sep 9.
The Taken King name was first spotted through trademark filings, earlier this year. Last week, there was even an accidental leak by Red Bull which confirmed the existence of the name.
If the report turns true, The Taken King will have new elemental super ability - a flaming hammer for Titans (solar), a gravity bow for Hunters (void) and an electrical storm for Warlocks (arc).
The expansion will also feature a new raid for the players to fight against Oryx, the father if Crota, along with new multiplayer maps and more Strikes, as per the leak. Oryx is also said have a new army called The Taken.
Bungie has refused to comment on Destiny, when approached by Kotaku. However, the developer, earlier this week as a part of the Bungie Weekly Update, teased about reserving Destiny expansion news for the E3.
"We'll see you at E3. That's right," the developer said. "You might have seen mention of Bungie this or Destiny that on E3 schedules. We'll have some things to tease. Wouldn't miss it for the world."
