Fans of the famed fantasy series "A Song of Ice And Fire" and its television adaption "Game Of Thrones" by George R. R. Martin can expect an adult coloring book to be released by publisher Bantam in the fall.
The Random House subsidiary said that author Martin is overlooking the "Game of Thrones Coloring Book," which will feature more than 40 black and white drawings by prominent illustrators of the fantasy genre who were inspired by the novels, according to a report cited by Yahoo News.
The coloring book is a short term venture for the author who is looking to finish up the next installment of his fantasy series before the new season of the HBO hit "Game of Thrones" airs next year.
The book, however, will not be Martin's first collaborative attempt as the author set about overlooking an illustrated guide last year titled "The World of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones."
Sydney Morning Herald claimed that publishing an adult coloring book is a smart marketing strategy as it is currently one of the biggest trends and topped Amazon's lists.
The Australian publication reported that adult coloring books have become one of the fastest selling genres with Johanna Basford's books of the "Secret Garden" and "Enchanted Forest" leading the way in the best sellers list.
Meanwhile, the "Game Of Thrones Coloring Book" based on the fantasy series which has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide and bolstered by a HBO series is expected to do well for Bantam.
While the book is geared to adults and will feature the typical medieval settings portrayed in the HBO series and books, it is believed the depictions of violence and extreme content will be left out in the illustrations, according to the publication.
