Michael Clifford, 19, of 5 Seconds Of Summer was burned by pyrotechnics forcing the Australian pop band to cut short their concert at Wembley Arena in London on June 13, Saturday. Days before this, Enrique Iglesias and Dave Grohl were also victimized by concert accidents.
It was the second night of 5SOS performing in Wembley Arena in London when Clifford's hair caught on fire. The guitarist and vocalist suddenly jumped as a plume of smoke streams from his head, MTV has learned.
At the time, the 5SOS boys were playing "She Looks So Perfect," a hit song from their self-titled debut album in 2014. Written by Clifford with 5SOS drummer Ashton Irwin, 20, and Grammy-nominated producer Jake Sinclair, the song peaked at number 24 at the Billboard Hot 100.
Shortly after the pyrotechnics fire accident, Irwin told the crowd that the concert would not go on saying, "Michael has hurt himself so we will not be continuing the show right now. Just want to say thank you so much for coming. "
Irwin said that Clifford t is okay and thanked the audience for being the best crowd they could ask for tonight. After the concert, the 5SOS guitarist and vocalist tweeted a photo of his bandaged face and apologized for not being able to finish the show.
"What the f**ks up. Sorry I couldnt finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. Thanks for worrying every1," Clifford tweeted on June 13, Saturday night when #GETWELLSOONMICHAEL became a trending topic on Twitter.
