Web-based porn producer PornHub is aiming to release a sex tape that will be shot partly in space by 2016. The company has launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance the project, hoping to raise $3.4 million.
The objective of 'Sexploration' is to capture the intimate scenes between actors Eva Lovia and Johnny Sins, according to Venture Beat. The two adult performers will be accompanied by "a very experienced production crew and directorial team," as described by PornHub.
In an interview with Business Insider, the company revealed that Lovia and Sins will engage in a sex act "as soon as the ship reaches its maximum altitude there will be weightlessness (zero gravity) for at least a few minutes."
"Our actors will be having sex and climaxing within that time frame," PornHub told the publication. It is understood, however, that the planned movie will also consist of Earth-bound shots, indicating that only a portion of the film, likely most of the adult contents, will be recorded in space.
No or little science involved
As the porn provider had mentioned, the planned film is hoping to investigate on what it feels like to have sex with zero gravity in effect. "This will be a grand experiment in learning how intercourse works after penetrating the Earth's atmosphere," PornHub told Venture Beat.
Also, PornHub appears straightforward that curiosity and the likelihood of generating giant revenues (for producing the first sex tape in space) are the key motivation behind the project.
Lovia is more upfront, Business Insider noted on its report. The porn actress is optimistic that the targeted $3.4 million will be realized quickly as many donors might be curios enough to learn "what it's like to orgasm in space."
Luring in the money
To attract the funds it needs, PornHub is dangling some freebies to would be donors. Meet and greet sessions with Lovia and Sins will be offered for contributors as well as advanced screening of the finished movie.
But for the big-time givers, PornHub will hand over the space suits that Lovia and Sins will use. In order to qualify for this, would-be donors must be willing to part ways with at least $150,000 in cold cash, Venture Beat said.
The Sexploration crowdfunding is expected to run until next month and if the targeted figures are realized, preliminary works will be started immediately en route to the late 2016 launch of the first sex tape in space project.
