George R. R. Martin on a Game of Thrones premiere.

"Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale ended the journeys of a couple of characters, including Jon Snow's short tenure as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Valar Morghulis, boy. Kit Harington has told the media he is not going to reprise his role and film GOT 6. Speculators are saying, however, that "Winds of Winter" will have a more hopeful plotline. (Spoiler alert: More spoilers coming up, you have been warned.)

Many of the fans discussing Jon Snow's fate suspect that he will live on in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 albeit in a different form. However, the basis for this speculation is yet another speculation, which states that Jon, like Bran, has the ability to warg into his direwolf; he just did not know of it prior to his death.

The question now is: Where is Jon's direwolf Ghost? The only Stark direwolf with a Targaryen-fur was last seen saving Samwell Tarly from the same camp that wanted Jon Snow dead.

Other fans believe that Melisandre will call upon her Lord of Light to resurrect Jon or steal him away from the brink of death. Obviously this would require actor Kit Harington to come back for "Game of Thrones" Season 6. However, the actor himself has said that he is not part of next season's GOT cast.

Fans who have read George R.R. Martin's "A Song Of Ice And Fire" know the fate that Jon Snow would suffer in the hands of his supposed comrades. What happens next is unknown. The sixth book, "Winds of Winter," has yet to be released.

"If there's one thing we know in 'A Song of Ice and Fire' is that death is not necessarily permanent," Martin was quoted as saying in an Entertainment Weekly report. This gives many fans a reason to hope that things are not completely over for Jon Snow.
