"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart's mother, Jules Stewart, has denied the claims made by a tabloid, which reported that she acknowledged her daughter to be in a same-sex relationship.
An interview with Jules was published in Mirror on June 13, Saturday, in which it was claimed that she has called Kristen's assistant Alicia Cargile as her daughter's girlfriend. Sharon Feinstein, who took the interview of the celebrity mother, published a quote from her, which stated that she has met Cargile and her daughter is happy to be in relationship with her.
Kristen was spotted vacationing in Hawaii with her assistant earlier this year. It was rumored back then that the two are in a same-sex relationship. The latest statements by Jules published in the tabloid further fueled the rumor surounding the actress' sexual orientation.
Meanwhile, Jules told Us Weekly that she had never spoken a word about Kristen in her conversation with Feinstein. She clarified that the whole interview was about her film "K-11," which has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum these days.
Jules went on to acknowledge that she was asked about her daughter's personal assistant.
"I said, 'Yes, she's a lovely girl,'" said Jules, recalling the excerpts from the controversial interview.
Jules' denial of her quote published by the tabloid has led to a Twitter outburst by Feinstein, who claimed in a series of tweets that she had published exactly what the 55-year-old film editor has told her. In her defense, the journalist tweeted that she will soon make the tape public by uploading it on Twitter.
Later, the journalist backtracked saying that she is not able to upload the tapes due to some tech glitch. However, she uploaded a statement on her blog on June 16, Tuesday, saying that the controversial report "was a very positive story and one told by a loving parent. Any statements to the contrary are simply not supported and not true."
