Before "True Detective" season 2 premieres on June 21, Sunday, "The Internship" actor Vince Vaughn, 45, explained why he returned to reprise his role in the HBO series created by Nic Pizzolatto.

In his interview in the July issue of Cigar Aficionado, set to be released in newsstands on June 23, Vaughn said that he is highly enthusiastic with the series and not just on TV. He added that the series has a remarkable approach of telling the story using eight parts, allowing viewers to deeply follow the characters' lives in the story.

Also, "The Internship" actor revealed that his role in the second season of the crime drama series was a shift from his earlier roles, which are lighter. He is best known for his comedic roles in television series and films.

Aside from "The Internship," other films in which the actor is known for are Kat Coiro's comedy romance "A Case of You" and Ken Scott's comedy drama "Delivery Man" and "Unfinished Business." He will be next seen in Peter Billingsley's crime drama "Term Life."

"True Detective" Season 2 will be visually and tonally darker than the last season, centering on law enforcement officers who try to seek answers to complex crimes driven by concealed intention with Pizzolatto's voice and visions bringing the series' seasons together, as per The Windsor Star.
