Kristin Wiig's "A Deadly Adoption" co-star Will Ferrell is interviewed at the MuchMusic television station to promote his new movie ''Semi-Pro'' in Toronto on February 27, 2008.

"A Deadly Adoption" starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig premiered on June 20, Staruday, which marks Lifetime's 25th anniversary of making films. Until now, Ferrell and Wiig have yet to explain why they kept the project a secret.

"I don't know if we'll ever know whether it was a bet from a group of friends or he really wanted to do it," A+E Networks senior VP of original movies Tanya Lopez told Entertainment Weekly. "We weren't clear if it was going to be authentic, if it really was going to be this murder story."

According to Lopez, "A Deadly Adoption" is not a comedy and it is well done. It features Ferrell and Wiig as a small-town couple and the pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) whose child they plan to adopt.

Another A+E Networks senior VP of original movies Arturo Interian told the publication that "A Deadly Adoption" is not the "Scary Movie" parody of a Lifetime movie and Ferrell wanted to do a Lifetime sexual thriller legitimately.

Along with Adam McKay, Ferrell executive produced "A Deadly Adoption," which was directed by Rachel Goldenberg written by Andrew Steele. The TV movie also starred Jake Weary, Bryan Safi, Brooke Lyons, Jessica Lowndes, Alyvia Alyn Lind and Debra Chrisofferson, among others.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Ferrell is reuniting with Mark Wahlberg in the new comedy "Daddy's Home," People has learned. The two actors starred in the comedy "The Other Guys" in 2010.

Directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, "Daddy's Home" also stars Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church, Alessandra Ambrosio, Paul Scheer, Hannibal Buress, Jamie Denbo, Cedric Yarbrough, LaMonica Garrett, Justin Lebrun, Candice Harrison, Kerry Cahill and Bill Slaughter, among others.
