Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins

The DeMarcus Cousins saga continues to unravel each passing days with the latest report by Ken Berger of CBS Sports pointing the New York Knicks as another potential destination for the Sacramento Kings All-Star big man.

In his latest report, Berger stated that Cousins' agent Dan Fegan is backing up the proposed deal that would send his 6-foot-11 double-double machine client to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for the team's no.2 overall pick and last year's no.7 pick Julius Randle. However, Cousins has also on the Knicks on top of his wish list, if the Kings would eventually trade him.

"Cousins' agent, Dan Fegan, would like to steer his client to the Lakers, who can offer Julius Randle and this year's No. 2 pick - though rival teams doubt the Kings would send Cousins to a division rival," according to Berger.

"The Knicks are another team on Cousins' list, but all the Knicks have to offer is the fourth pick (which, bear in mind, can't officially be dealt until the Knicks use it, since their 2016 first-rounder already has been traded)."

While the Lakers have certainly emerged as the front-runner for Cousins' service because of its ability to offer multiple draft picks and an up-and-coming player, the inclusion of the Knicks as a potential candidate for the big man makes the situation more intriguing.

However, NBA insiders are pessimistic on the Knicks' chance of landing Cousins for the reason that they don't have much asset to throw in aside from the no.4 overall pick, which cannot be traded until the Knicks use it in the draft. Still, it would be interesting how this report would change the game-plan for Phil Jackson, who is reportedly dangling the no.4 pick for Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe.
