Lenovo finally enters the stick PC market after the company unveils the Ideacentre Stick 300. Lenovo said the device will debut in the United States market and pricing starts at $129.
The Lenovo Ideacentre Stick 300 is just 15 millimeters thick, according to Digital Trends. The pocket-sized PC has an Intel Baytrail Processor Z3735F with reported computed of 1.83 GHz and 2 megabytes of cache. It has 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal storage.
According to Lenovo's official website, the Ideacentre Stick 300 will ship with a genuine copy of Windows 8.1. Lenovo added that it will support the upcoming Windows 10 upgrade once it rolls out on July 29.
Aside from full Windows compatibility, the Ideacentre Stick 300 also support Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. For additional input peripherals, the Ideacentre Stick 300 supports 2.4 GHz wireless keyboard and mouse.
In terms of pre-loaded software, Lenovo included a copy of Microsoft Office 360 which is free for three months.
In terms of design, Lenovo's stick PC is the first to integrate built-in speakers. This allows the device to provide audio capabilities which comes in handy when used to a display monitor with no speakers.
The Ideacentre Stick 300 has one HDMI port, an SD card reader and one MicroUSB 2.0 port.
Lenovo vice president Jun Ouyang said, "We've looked at computing needs of travelers, business people and familiar, and realized that a truly portable and affordable solution would be a significant benefir to users of all kinds."
The device is expected to hit stores in fall. Many industry analysts are expecting Lenovo's stick PC to perform well after Intel's Compute Stick suffered a massive flop in terms of sales output.
