With "The Impossible" actor Tom Holland being able to grab the role of the iconic web-slinger "Spider-Man," "Captain America" himself Chris Evans welcomed his new companion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On June 23, Evans posted a status on his official Twitter account, congratulating Holland as the new incarnation of "Spider-Man." The "Captain America" actor told Holland that he deserves the role and mentioned that the team is lucky to have him. Evan's twitter post got more than 10,000 favorites and more than 6,000 retweets.

According to Cinema Blend, Holland had the chance to work together with Evans during the audition process, leaving the "Captain Americal" actor to become stirred up to have "The Impossible" actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The casting process took months of evaluation as "Spider-Man" is assumed to have a minor role, a cameo, in Joe and Anthony Russo's upcoming "Captain America: Civil War," according to Variety. However, Holland should immediately report on the "Civil War" set for filming.

"Civil War" centers on the superhero registration act, which obliges superheroes to reveal their identities to the government and to the public. This creates tension between Captain America and Iron Man and separates them into two factions.

"Spider-Man" joins Iron Man's side, along with War Machine, Vision, and Ant-Man while Black Widow, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Falcon join Captain America's side.

"Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit the big screen on May 6, 2016. Directed by Watts, the solo "Spider-Man" film is slated to premiere in theaters on July 28, 2017.
