With Rupert Wyatt's "Gambit" spin-off film set to hit theaters next week, Gambit himself, Channing Tatum, is learning some Gambit tricks and Cajun accent.

"Gambit" screenwriter Reid Carolin told Screen Rant that Tatum is training how to throw cards and do hand tricks. The writer also mentioned that a magician named David Kwong is the one who is teaching the "Magic Mike" actor the card throwing tricks.

Kwong is the man to rely on when it comes to learning sleight hand tricks and card throwing as these, especially the latter, are essential skills that are needed to effectively portray the card-throwing mutant. He is also known for playing the role of the lead magic consultant in Louise Leterrier's crime thriller "Now You See Me."

Aside from the card throwing skills, Tatum is also training on his Gambit accent. Since the mutant was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the "Magic Mike" actor has to learn the patois or the native language of the area.

According to Cinema Blend, the actor's accent training can "make or break" his portrayal of the Cajun mutant, since Gambit's trademark has led him to be one of the most well-known icons in the X-Men universe.

Right now, Marvel and Wyatt have not yet made an official announcement on Tatum's co-stars, as well as the film plot.

With Wyatt set to direct the film, Joshua Zetumer and Chirs Claremont are on board to pen the screenplay. In addition, the upcoming "Gambit" film will be produced by Reid Carolin, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner.

Wyatt's "Gambit" solo film is set to be released on Oct. 7, 2016.
