Speculations have continued about the real reason for Hollywood stars Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's divorce, which the couple confirmed on June 30 ending their 10-year relationship.
Critics are putting a spotlight on Garner's reported dislike over Affleck's alleged casino gambling and drinking issues, Los Angeles Times reported.
The couple allegedly showed telling signs long before the public knew about the divorce. In 2014, rumors surfaced about Affleck apparently being kicked out of a casino for counting cards and that Garner was upset over his supposed gambling.
Others pointed out to a comment Affleck made during his Oscars speech for the movie "Argo" where he called his marriage with Garner "work." Many immediately reacted and took it negatively but Garner was quick to respond that he meant it as a compliment to her.
Meanwhile, while speculations continue, a source close to the family told People that Garner and Affleck do not want their divorce to be an "ugly" one for the sake of their children Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
According to the same source, rumors on whether they will still be living together are confirmed. The source added, "They plan on co-parenting and doing absolutely everything in the best interest of the kids."
They live in an expansive 8,800 sq. ft. estate which would allow them their own space to still live together in the same property.
Garner said in a statement announcing their divorce, "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children."
