A tipster that works with the supply chain for Apple has revealed images of the metal chassis for iPhone 6S. Since the appearance of the chassis is not different than that of the iPhone 6 from 2014, the iPhone 6S will dishearten fans who are looking for some sort of changes in its design.

By looking at the photos of the iPhone 6S metal housing in space gray color revealed by 9to5 Mac, the handset will appear very similar to the last year's model sporting the same thickness. Even the placement of the antenna lines, microphone, speaker grilles and connectors on the iPhone 6S is exactly same as that of iPhone 6. Hence, the iPhone 6S will disappoint Apple fans, Forbes reported.

The iPhone 6S will arrive with 4.7-inch display and its larger sibling, the iPhone 6S Plus will come with 5.5-inch display. Through the leaked photos of the iPhone 6S housing, it can be understood that the device will not be arriving with some of the rumored and most desired features front-facing speakers, duo-camera setup, and USB Type-C connector.

As far as the internal components are concerned, the iPhone 6S is expected to deliver double the LTE download speeds than the iPhone 6. Qualcomm will be providing Apple with a faster MDM9635M (aka 9X35) LTE processor on the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus, 9to5 Mac claimed in another report. The predecessor iPhone 6 models feature 9X25 LTE chip.

The MDM9635M (aka 9X35) LTE processor includes a Category 6 LTE modem that can produce max download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of 150 Mbps. The chip would also help in improving the battery life of the device.

The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are also rumored to arrive with bigger batteries. With Low Power mode feature of iOS 9, the newer iPhones will be able to deliver better battery performance.
