Tom Mason Of 'Falling Skies,' Noah Wyle, Talks Candidly About TNT Show

"Falling Skies" season 5 premiered on June 28 on TNT.

"Falling Skies" lead actor Noah Wyle recalled nostalgically about the good and bad parts about being the part of the show as TNT launched its last and fifth season of its hit post-apocalyptic drama series.

"I'm really proud of how we did the show," the 44-year-old actor told New York Daily News. He further declared that the show has a "real grit and verisimilitude," which is rarely seen on TV nowadays.

Wyle, who is also the co-producer of the show, plays the role of a college professor-turned-leader of the 2nd Mass, a group of survivors fighting against the aliens, that apparently killed over 90 per cent of the human population within a few days.

It seems that the actor is not a fan of visceral scenes of raw, ragged battles, which are routinely shown in the series. Wyle, specifically, recalled shooting a particular scene of episode 1 of the current series, in which he was shown crawling out of the ocean in dark across a beach covered with jagged rocks.

The actor revealed that when he was told about the shot, he thought it will be easier and water will be warm. On the contrary, the scene was shot in November and the water was admittedly freezing at the time.

The actor, however, gave his best shot in the single take as the misery of being drenched in cold water, followed by being bruised on rocks added the realistic touch to his acting. The actor recalled shouting "F--- this," as the shot was over.

Following "Falling Skies," Wyle will be seen in another TNT production, "The Librarians." The series premiered in December 2014 and was an instant hit. The series, also stars Rebecca Rmoijn, revolves around an ancient organization consisting of Flynn Carsen, played by Wyle, Christian Kane as Jacob Stone and John Kim as Ezekiel Jones.

The filming of the show was in full swing in Estacada last month, where the city's fire department was warned that the crew will be blowing up a car for the shoot, Oregon Live reported.
