With Jon Watts' "Spider-Man" reboot hitting the big screen in two years, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" actor Denis Leary has revealed a plot twist in the cancelled film "The Amazing Spider-Man 3."

Leary told IGN at the San Diego Comic-Con that in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3," Spider-Man will be able to take hold of a formula, which allows him to bring back the lives of his loved ones who passed away. This idea led to arguments on Captain Stacy's possible return in the scrapped third installment.

Aside from the possibility of Captain Stacy's resurrection in the "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" plot, characters like Uncle Ben, Gwen, and Peter Parker's parents can be brought back to life by the iconic superhero using the formula. The plot point can also be utilized to give Parker's father a chance to explain unclear events in the predecessors of the film, according to Cinema Blend.

After playing the role of Captain Stacy in Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," which starred Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, Leary also said that he was prepared to be part of the film provided that his role was a good one. For the actor, having fun in making the film and having a modest screen time in the movie are the things that he considers.

At this point, Marvel will re-introduce a young Spider-Man who discovers the implications of becoming a superhero. Tom Holland is set to play the role of the iconic superhero in Watts' solo "Spider-Man" film and in Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War."

Watt's "Spider-Man" is slated to premiere in theaters on July 28, 2017 while the Russo's "Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
