Manchester City's Stevan Jovetic

Italian club Inter Milan is reportedly the frontrunner in the race to acquire Manchester City's Stevan Jovetić. Aside from the Nerazzurri, other Serie A clubs such as Juventus, AS Roma, and AC Milan are said to be interested in the Montenegro international as well.

Reports abound that Inter and City are already engaged in transfer talks involving the 25-year-old forward and an official transaction is looming in the horizon.

ESPN reported that the chances of the deal pushing through is still at a low 55 percent, but the two clubs had already agreed on Jovetić's possible salary for the next five years in a recent meeting in the Italian city.

One reason that the deal may be jeopardized is because Roberto Mancini's side has only one non-EU spot available on its roster and the team is allegedly also in pursuit of Egypt international and Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah.

City is said to be negotiating for a £12.8 million transfer fee, which La Beneamata is reportedly amenable.

Inter had proposed the possibility of loaning Jovetić before the deal can be finalized, but it was turned down by Manuel Pellegrini's side.

One concern about the six-foot Montenegrin's game is that it has been declining ever since he arrived at the Etihad two years ago, as per the Daily Express. In 2013-2014, Jovetić scored only 6 goals in 16 appearances for the Sky Blues, while 2014-2015 was worse with 5 goals in 23 games.

Jovetić played for Serie A squad Fiorentina from 2008 to 2013 and scored a total of 40 goals in 134 games.
