"GTA 6" release may happen more likely by 2018.

Rockstar is reportedly looking for the much awaited “Grand Theft Auto” release date to be in 2018, rather than the highly speculated 2020.

The upcoming title in the “Grand Theft Auto” franchise will have the entire U.S. mapped and will more likely feature the super couple Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes as the lead, according to Youth Health Mag.

This falls in line with the previous speculations of a 2018 release those points to the previous installment release dates. However, it is not necessary that Rockstar will follow a pattern for the “GTA 6” release.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that the super couple Gosling and Mendes will play the lead characters, with the sixth installment having big names playing important roles, just like “GTA: Vice City.” A new female character, possibly played by Mendes, is also expected to be added to the character list in the new game.

Rumor has it that the Gosling’s character will be descendant of John Marstan, the lead character in “Red Dead Redemption” series, creating a link between Rockstar’s two popular game series.

As for the location, initially “GTA 6” was speculated to be set in the 80’s in the Vice city again, but the most recent reports hints at the developer mapping the entire U.S. to the make the biggest map ever, Day Herald reported.

Nevertheless, these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Rockstar is yet to officially confirm the game. Still, if the reports are to be believed, the developer might actually have a 2018 “GTA 6” release date on the cards.
