"The Bachelorette" Season 11 (2015) is nearing its finishing line and only one contestant will get the final rose. However, one man from the eliminated lot will also get a second chance at finding true love and lead "The Bachelor" Season 20. According to a latest report, Ben Higgins one of the frontrunners from Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of "The Bachelorette" has been chosen as the star of the highly anticipated season of ABC's popular reality dating show.
Entertainment publication E!Online claims that multiple insiders have confirmed the news. The publication has learned that Ben Higgins, the third finalist on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season, is yet to sign the contract. However, he is "pretty much a lock" to get another opportunity of finding his soul mate.
The 26-year-old software salesman from Indiana was recently eliminated by the bachelorette after the overnight dates. Kaitlyn Bristowe chose Shawn Booth and Nick Viall over Ben Higgins for her hometown dates.
After the show that featured Ben Higgins exit, the bachelor posted a warm message for Kaitlyn Bristowe on his Twitter account.
"This wonderful girl deserves happiness. Much respect for you @kaitlynbristowe and glad you were our bachelorette," Ben Higgins wrote on Twitter.
Daily news publication Daily Mail notes that several fans then took to the social networking site lobbying for Ben Higgins to become the next leading man.
According to Reality Steve, Ben Higgins is a business analyst by profession for Talisys. He majored in Business Administration from Indiana University in the year 2012 and had a girlfriend named Shaelin Adams. His first one-on-one date with the bachelorette happened in San Antonio during the fifth week of the show.
Sources claim that Ben Higgins was not the only one who was being considered for the leading role in "The Bachelor" Season 20. Initially, the producers were also looking at the second runner-up of "The Bachelorette" Season 11. But they feel that Ben Higgins will attract greater viewership. It is also noted that the bachelor's casting announcement will not be made any time soon.
