With Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" coming to theaters in 2016, the director has revealed that "Mad Max: Fury Road" actor Josh Helman will reprise his role as antagonist Major William Stryker in the upcoming film, in addition to the titular supervillain and his Four Horsemen.

Singer shared a photo on his official Instagram account and it features Helman, along with "Insidious" actress Rose Byrne, on the "X-Men: Apocalypse" production set. The two actors look very glad in the photo, with Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, pointing at Helman. Singer's photo got more than 7,000 likes and more than a hundred comments.

Helman was originally cast as the younger version of Juggernaut in Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past," as per Movie Web.

Being played by Vinnie Jones in Brett Ratner's "X-Men: The Last Stand" in 2006, Juggernaut was originally set to help Professor X and Wolverine free Magneto out of prison. However, the Breaker of Stone was replaced by Evan Peter's Quicksilver, leading Singer to cast Helman as the mutang-hating Stryker.

It can be recalled in Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" at Mystique scarfed the officer's identity as he secures Wolverine at the conclusion of the film. As a result, it is uncertain at this point if Helman will be playing the actual Stryker or Mystique's disguise as the mutant threat in Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse," according to Cinema Blend.

Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" serves as the final installment of the "X-Men: First Class" film series. Along with Helman, Byrne, Peters, and Isaac, "X-Men: Apocalypse" stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Hugh Jackman, Ben Hardy, Lara Condor, Olivia Munn, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Tye Sheridan, among others.

Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016.
