Neither actress Demi Moore not members of her family were in the Los Angeles home when a 21-year-old man was found dead in the pool of their Beverly Hills home on Sunday. Moore and her family are reportedly out of the country.
The man apparently drowned on Saturday evening during a pool party. Who organized the party remains a question because of the absence of the Moore family, although Time notes that Demi's children used to throw parties at their home.
LA Times identified the victim as Edenilson Steven Valle of Los Angeles. LA police were sent to Demi's house on the 9000 block of Oak Pass Road at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday. Valle was treated by paramedics, but he was declared dead on the scene a few minutes after his body was retrieved from the pool, said Sgt. A Bone from the LAPD.
Valle, whom friends say did not know how to swim, was found floating at the pool's deep end. He was missing for 10 to 15 minutes, according to family and friends. Bone said that Valle was apparently a staff of Moore's house.
Demi, who is out of the US to meet her daughters for a birthday celebration, said she was shocked by the news of Valle's drowning. In a statement, she said, "The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to the young man's family and friends," quotes CBC.
