Moto DROID Turbo release is purported to happen on July 28 alongside the new generation of Moto X and Moto G. The smartphone will reportedly head to Verizon Wireless.

Motorola has created a solid following, albeit small, since the company delivers sturdy smartphones with fair specs and features. Ecumenical News reported that the Moto DROID Turbo was sighted in an FCC document, which means that the device will be heading to the United States.

Droid-Life reported that a new DROID handset may be coming soon citing a device seen in FCC. Based on the said document, the new DROID handset will support turbo charging, 802.11ac MiMo WiFi, LTE Advanced, as well as US LTE bands outside of Verizon's.

In addition, the back panel of the new DROID handset was leaked by the Facebook page of HelloMotoHK that will probably land in the US thru Verizon Wireless. The photo showed a plastic back covering although it can also be made out of rubber. The image also showed a back camera with LED flash located right underneath.

Another strong clue that the Moto DROID Turbo 2 release is coming soon is the fact that Motorola and its US carrier partner Verizon rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update for the Moto DROID Turbo.

While Moto DROID Turbo features have not been announced yet, it is claimed that the handset will come with octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 430 chip. The smartphone may come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box.

However, Motorola has not confirmed the aforementioned rumors yet. More details will be revealed as the Moto DROID Turbo release date nears.
