CM Punk UFC First Fight: WWE Star Debut 'Will Sell Itself'

CM Punk is part of the playable roster of characters in the upcoming "UFC 2" video game.

After a successful wrestling career, CM Punk may soon make his debut in the UFC. And the fighter thinks his fight will "sell itself".

Fans have been looking forward to Phil Brooks', aka CM Punk, debut on the octagon. The former WWE superstar has signed a deal with the UFC in December and has been working on his Mixed Martial Arts at the Roufusport Academy in Milwaukee since then.

The 36-year-old fighter believes he will be making his debut at the UFC ring when "he and his coaches believe he's ready for competition," notes MMA Junkie.

Punk also says his striking is the best part of his game so far.

In a UFC media interview last week, the fighter revealed that his coach, Duke Roufus, thinks his stand up is "ahead of every other part of his MMA game so far," noted MMA Fighting.

"Duke tells everybody that he thinks my best area right now is striking...Which is mind-boggling to me. Striking is the one thing that I never did. I've hit mitts before. I've done boxing and stuff like that. But just all the little nuances," the fighter revealed.

Punk also thinks his first fight won't have to be marketed as it would create enough stir among UFC and WWE fans, so a ready audience would be watching his debut.

"I feel my fight already sells itself," the wrestler told MMA Junkie.

"There's a curiosity factor, but I don't think I'll be that guy that manufactures some kind of phony beef to try to sell a fight."

CM Punk may have his debut in the UFC sometime this year.
