"Captain America: Civil War" star Martin Freeman recently talked about his mysterious character in the film, that until now still has not yet been confirmed.

According to Venture Capital Post, Freeman could potentially take on one of two roles that were featured in the Marvel comics. The publication noted that it is possible Freeman will play the role of Henry Peter Gyrich or Everett Ross.

Gyrich is a character who is part of a government agency called Commission of Superhuman Activities. The agency is known for making the superheroes accountable for their own actions. With this, some fans are speculating that this could Freeman's role.

Ross, on the other hand, is a United States government agent who is an expert on the nation of Wakanda. If Freeman were to play this role, he will most likely also appear in Chadwick Boseman's standalone film "Black Panther."

Meanwhile, in an interview with Bad Taste, the "Sherlock" star dropped some hints on which character he will portray on "Captain America: Civil War." According to him, his character works for the American government and he will be one in charge of taming the powers of the superheroes.

However, Freeman hinted that it is still unclear which side his character will be on. Not because he will be taming the powers of the superheroes would it mean that he is against them. The 43-year-old actor also urged fans of the franchise to watch closely when it comes to his character's personality because he might be supporting something, but doing something else.

"Captain America: Civil War" is slated for release in the United States in 2016.
