Android Lollipop updates are already available on LG smartphones including the  LG G4, LG G2 and LG G3. Let's look at the present Android situation for the LG devices.

The LG G4 smartphone comes installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box. The electronics manufacturer LG has not announced when Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is rolling out to the LG G4 smartphone.

According to a GottaBeMobile report, the LG G4 will receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop sometime later in 2015. The report added that Samsung has already upgraded its Galaxy S6 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

However, according to Android Origin, LG will skip toward the Android M operating system. It is not known when the LG G3 will receive the next Android update.

According to a Phone Arena report, LG may not be planning to update the G3 smartphone to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. At present, the LG G3 is running on the Android 5.0.2.

Earlier this month, GSMArena reported that the LG G2 will receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in the coming months. The information reportedly came from an unnamed LG employee. The source reported that the update will be ready in two months.

It is important to note that the newer G3 and G4 are rumored to be not getting Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Rumors are doing the rounds that LG may be holding back the G2 and G3 for Android M. It is expected that Android M will come out later this year. This appears likely because the tech giant Google will release the all-new Android update sometime later this year.
