Moto X 2015 vs. Google Nexus 2015: 2 Ways Motorola Flagship Will Beat Its Pure Android Rival

Moto X (2015)

For many Android fans, July 28 is marked as the day to first see what the Moto X 2015 will be and the likelihood is the device's release date will follow not long after. But a week before the scheduled unveiling, unofficial pictures of the third Moto X instalment leaked out.

BGR picked up the circulating images, sourced from China's social media sites, and detected key specifications and features that the Motorola hero phone will come loaded with. Two of these features will likely not be found on any of the Google Nexus 2015 models, potentially giving the Moto X some form of advantage when the two engage in a dogfight.

Front camera flash

The leaked Moto X images mostly tell how the device will look when unboxed but the specification details remain shrouded. Nonetheless, one interesting feature that got hinted concerns the front-facing camera.

It was not mentioned though how powerful this camera is but one can easily notice the flash right beside the cam sensor. The picture says that Motorola has designed the new Moto X to cater to how the smartphones are valued by millions of consumers these days - their primary selfie tool.

Everyone is still clueless on the exact camera specs that the Moto X will deliver but the front flash at least gives the assurance that capturing selfies with the device will result to better images than before. Now flash on the front cam may not be new and a number of smartphones vendors will surely boast of the same feature but it is highly unlikely that the Nexus 2015 will have the same capability once revealed.

Enhanced personalization options

One of the Moto X signatures is that it allows users to give the device their personal touch, effectively making them that they really own the phone. The same tradition is carried with the 2015 build and if in the previous models the emphasis was on being hip and cool, this year's refresh will go back to the classic.

On its third year, the Moto X will remain attractive to youngsters but will also serve the not so older generations by offering the device in more mature colors. Among the options mentioned are white and gold, which are familiar colors for other flagships such as the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6.

Now it could be that the Nexus 2015 line up will be a tad different on this year's release date, perhaps encasing the device in different color tones that would match the personality of users. But Google is not known to favor such moves in the past and is not hinting that it will change course for the refresh this year.
