"Anaconda" singer Nicki Minaj talked about women equality on her  "Good Morning America" interview on July 24, Friday. She also gave details about her phone call conversation with "Bad Blood" singer Taylor Swift.

"We need to have both images for girls," said Minaj who believes that glorifying only one type of body in the media causes girls to be insecure.

Minaj mentioned her video "Anaconda" which had a huge cultural impact. Despite breaking the Vevo record, the hip-hop track failed to secure an MTV Video Music Awards "Music Video of the Year" nomination causing the voluptuous singer to tweet, "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, 'Anaconda' would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well."

The disappointed singer continued by saying she would have gotten more nominations if her video celebrated slimmer women. This statement caused Swift to speak out. Swift, whose MTV VMA nominated video "Bad Blood" featured slim white women, said she has done nothing but love and support Minaj and it is unlikely of the latter to pit women against each other.

The exchange of tweets followed until Swift realized that Minaj was fighting for general equality among women. Swift tweeted"I thought I was being called out. I missed the point. I misunderstood and then misspoke. I'm sorry Nicki."

Minaj quickly accepted the apology. She and Swift were able to talk on the phone already to clear things up and the friends have begun laughing again. The two celebrities, despite momentarily misunderstanding each other, never replied with ill words.

"It takes a big person to do what Taylor did," Minaj said. In the recent episode of "Good Morning American," some of her songs including "Feeling Myself" and "The Night is Still Young" were played.

Currently, a lot has been going on with the sensual singer who is currently juggling "The Pink Print Tour" along with a movie, perfume venture, and other businesses, Perez Hilton shared.
