The sequel to the highest-grossing ever released by Universal Pictures, will be make its way to the theatres on June 22, 2018, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprising their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, Variety reported.

The upcoming film will have "Jurassic World" co-writers Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly pen the script, while Trevorrow has said that he won't return to the director's chair.

"Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie. I would be involved in some way, but not as director." Trevorrow said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

The film is yet to land a new director. Trevorrow, apart from co-writing the script, will also be serving as executive producer alongside Steven Spielberg, while Frank Marshall will be the co-producer.

On talking about how the "Jurassic World" might lead to a future series, Trevorrow said "It's somewhat a plot based setup for the future. And that matters to a certain extent," The Global Dispatch reported.

He added that there was line in the movie, which was cut during final edits, that has a lot of potential for the upcoming plot. "How long do you think you're gonna be able to control her? We won't always be the only ones who can make a dinosaur," Doctor Wu tells Irfan Khan

However, there is always something that every fan would like to know when it comes to a "Jurassic" film - whether the all-time favorite "T-Rex" will return or not. Taking into account that she had graced almost every "Jurassic" film till date, T-Rex is more likely expected to make an appearance in the sequel also, though it is yet to be officially confirmed.
