Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Motta.

Italian-Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta is eager on transferring from French club Paris Saint-Germain to Italian club Atlético Madrid as he is reportedly not intending to finish the remaining one year in his contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

ESPN reported that the 32-year-old São Bernardo do Campo native is hoping that his team would allow him to leave, admitting that the final decision is not up to him.

"The club knows my will is to leave," Motta told reporters after PSG's International Champions Cup game against Premier League kings Chelsea, which they lost in penalties, 1-1 (6-5), at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. "We have talked, we continue to talk. In the end, it will be (PSG owner) Nasser Al-Khelaifi who will decide my future. I play on, but it is important I am honest and sincere. My will is to leave."

The Italy international implied that he will not force himself out of the team, though. He insisted that with proper negotiations between his camp and the management, everyone will arrive at a win-win situation.

He also confirmed his desire to return to the Serie A club Atlético, where he played from 2007 to 2008.

Meanwhile, Rojiblancos' president Enrique Cerezo confirmed that his team is already negotiating with Les Parisiens' bosses regarding the potential transfer of Motta, as per Goal.

"He is a player we are very much interested in," Cerezo said. "Negotiations are taking their time, but we are in talks."

PSG boss Laurent Blanc also disclosed that Motta would not be donning Les Rouge-et-Bleu's jersey again and will be transferred to Atlético before the new season begins.
